I was actually working for the Chicago Teacher Education Pipeline this summer and entering graduate information into a database. I noticed that one graduate had experience as a school called Peterson. I looked up the school and knew immediately that this was a school/community that I wanted to be a member of. I applied for an open 3rd grade position online, but it had already been filled. That's when DeAndrea Bell reached out to me about maternity leave! I came in for an interview and Ms. Nieves called me later that day to offer me the job. Peterson is a place I wanted to be and a place I wanted to start my career, so I accepted it right then!

“Where do I even start? Currently it's the support amongst staff. This is my first year teaching and it seems as though every time I start to get overwhelmed, there is a friendly face ready to help! I have had hugs, pep-talks, and flowers given to me. I am so proud to be a part of this family.”
